How to use Flove menstrual cup?
Is it your first time using the Flove menstrual cup? A menstrual cup can seem a bit stressful at first, but as soon as you get your period, you will have a new view of your period! Most people never go back to tampons. By the way, do you remember the first time you used a tampon? Chances are that it also took some getting used to. Below you will see an illustrated guide on how to use a menstrual cup.
1
Boil the menstrual cup for 5-10 minutes before use.
2
Wash (do not boil) your hands.
3
Hold the menstrual cup along the edge, pinch your fingers together, then fold the flat cup in on itself.
4
Insert the folded menstrual cup; make sure it opens around or under your cervix (around if you can feel the cervix and under if it's too far up to feel). You can use your finger and feel around the top of the cup to to help it open up. This will take some practice. Do you remember the first time you used a tampon?
5
Empty the cup when it is full. Experiment and find out how much time is right for your menstrual cycle. You can keep it in for up to 12 hours.
6
IMPORTANT: Break the vacuum before pulling it out. Squeeze the bottom of the cup. This breaks the vacuum. If you can't reach the cup, you can use the stem of the cup to pull it down a little further, then pinch the bottom and take it out. Don't get panic if you have trouble getting the cup out. The cup won't go anywhere. Relax, walk around and try again. You can use your inner muscles to push it down further.
7
Clean the menstrual cup thoroughly. Rinse first with cold water (to avoid stains) and then with warm water. Remember to clean the air holes.
8
Rinse and repeat until your period is finished. Boil for 5-10 minutes between each period.
